Following into the footsteps of the Fragment Series, these images come from details of larger images that may or may never see the light of day. But like in any microcosm is a small universe with a life of its own.
A direct consequence of trial and error, The Fragment Series consist of selections from one of the printed test sheet for the larger images.
While most of those sheets were meant to be destroyed it occurred to me that some of the details, when given a new window, possessed all the attributes to function in their new space as a different image.
The result is a series of one of a kind images that exist either on their own or in a group.

Interactive Cradles
It has been said over and over again that without the participation of the viewer, art cannot exist.
Cradles and Specks takes this participation one step further by allowing the viewer to morph the image.
The hand fabricated cradles are designed to hang from either side leaving the specks to fall freely.
Hence, the image will never look the same twice after manipulation.
The small size mirrored images were the first ones to emerge from the newspaper. Uncountable layers and transformations took place over a period of a few years before I finalized the images.
Next, from an attempt to retain the qualities of the newspaper in its pure state, emerged the small landscape images.
And finally with improvement in both technology and personal skills, I was able to create images of larger scale and exceptional detail. Thus came the triptychs.
These images are first printed with archival ink, then mounted on a fine rag heavyweight paper, signed and numbered according to the ethics of original printmaking and presented with a certificate of authenticity.
A decade after the first series of small mirrored images, I began to work on a new series, but for the first time with an intentional theme in mind.
The visual element of wings, constantly recurring when I attempted any mirrored images with The Newspaper, became a subject of interest for me. Evocative of nature and spirituality
